How do I log in to library databases?

Answer

To log in to library databases, use your CUNY Single Login ID, formatted as first.last##@login.cuny.edu.

If you get an error message when attempting to log in using your CUNY credentials, follow these steps

  1. Clear your browser history, cookies, cache, and active logins.
  2. Change your CUNYFirst password
    1. Go to the CUNYFirst login page https://home.cunyfirst.cuny.edu and click on “Forgot Password” below the login fields.

If you continue to have problems accessing materials after one or both of these steps, please email librarytechsupport@ccny.cuny.edu

Logging in to Library databases now requires Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) set up through your CUNY Login account (first.last##@login.cuny.edu).

If you have not yet set up CUNY MFA, it is important to complete the setup as soon as possible to avoid any disruption in access.

Please note that CUNY MFA is a separate MFA account, in addition to the MFA you may already use for your City College Email and CUNY Microsoft Apps. While all three use the Microsoft Authenticator app, each is managed independently and will appear as a separate entry in your Microsoft Authenticator App.

Action Required:

If you have not yet set up CUNY MFA, please do so immediately. Have your smartphone with the Microsoft Authenticator app ready during setup. The resources below could assist you with the setup process.
